Here is my enhancement to my book cover. I made the title larger and more prominent by adding a slight drop shadow and an orange glow to get it to "pop" over the lighter background. I decided to do a cloud-like texture to symbolize the "storminess" of the character's actions in the book. The lower bar had some shadow added to it to to lift it off the page. The gear icon I made a little softer by desaturating it a little bit as I felt the original was a little too colorful.
